Alpharetta Premium Roofing is an insured roofing contractor working Alpharetta and north Fulton County in architectural laminate shingle, twenty-four gauge standing seam, concrete tile, and low-slope membrane. We handle roof replacement, leak repair, storm and hail damage, inspections, ventilation, skylights, gutters, fascia, chimney flashing and commercial membrane roofing.
What makes a roof expensive in this city is rarely the shingle. More than half of Alpharetta's housing was built between 1990 and 2009, and it was built tall, steep and cut up with gables, dormers and turrets. Above four in twelve, federal rules classify a roof as steep, and a crew can no longer simply stand on it and work. That is where two quotes on one street diverge.
That single fact drives the price of everything else: anchors, roof bracket staging, lift time, small-lot material handling and a debris plan. So we measure the pitch of every plane before quoting, print the number beside the price, and separate access cost from material cost. On several pages of this site it is why we argue against the sale or recommend the cheaper option.
Why Alpharetta Chooses Alpharetta Premium Roofing
- ✓We take the rise over a two-foot run on every plane before quoting, and the number is printed on the proposal beside the price
- ✓Access is its own line on every estimate: anchors, roof bracket staging and lift time separated from material and labour
- ✓Above twenty-one in twelve we hand-seal with six fasteners and six spots of ASTM D4586 cement, because that is what the shingle maker's printed instructions require
- ✓We refuse coatings over steep shingle roofs and put the arithmetic in writing rather than selling the cheap number
- ✓Every report names the planes we reached, the method used on each, and the planes we did not reach
- ✓Small low-slope work on porch roofs, bay caps and sunroom decks is quoted standalone, because there is no staging cost to spread
About Alpharetta Premium Roofing in Alpharetta, GA
Alpharetta Premium Roofing works Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, Cumming, Suwanee and the rest of north Fulton and south Forsyth. We roof houses and we roof the low-slope commercial stock along Windward Parkway, North Point and Old Milton, and we treat those as two different trades with two different price bases.
The thing we do that most contractors here do not is measure the pitch of every plane and tell you what it is costing you. Access is not a hidden overhead on a steep roof, it is often the largest single component, and a homeowner who can see that number can make sensible decisions about phasing, bundling and whether to repair at all.
Do not hire us for a small standalone job on a walkable roof somebody local can do for less, and do not hire us if you want a coating over steep shingle or an inspection report that covers planes nobody reached. We will also tell you to wait when a roof has years left in it. We would rather lose that job than sell you the wrong one.
Our Roofing Services in Alpharetta, GA

Roof Replacement
Most of what a replacement costs on an Alpharetta house is not the shingle. It is getting a safe working platform onto a plane nobody can stand on, and getting forty squares of material up there without anyone falling off it.

Roof Leak Repair
A leak repair is priced twice: once for the fix, and once for the right to stand where the fix is. On a low ranch in south Alpharetta the second number is small.

Storm Damage Restoration
North Fulton takes its storms in a spring line and a second late-summer round, and on a steep roof the damage that matters is almost never visible from the driveway. A tall front gable hides its own ridge from the street, and the ridge is where things break.

Hail Damage Roofing
Hail does not treat a steep roof the way it treats a low one. A stone falling at an angle strikes a twelve in twelve obliquely and a four in twelve nearly square, so one storm can bruise your porch roof badly and leave the main gable genuinely arguable.

Wind Damage Roofing
Wind damage on a steep Alpharetta roof concentrates exactly where you cannot see it. The ridge line, the hip lines and the rake edge of a tall gable are the parts of the house pointed away from anyone standing on the lawn.

Roof Inspections
A free roof inspection on a twelve in twelve is either not free or not an inspection. Somebody is either absorbing an hour of two-person anchored access, or they looked from a ladder at the eave and then wrote a paragraph about the rest of the roof.

Asphalt Shingle Roofs
Architectural laminate is the right covering for almost every steep roof in this city, and how it is fastened ought to change with the pitch. Most quotes never mention that, and most crews install the same way at four in twelve as they do at fourteen.

Metal Roofing
Standing seam is a good roof and a wrong fit for many Alpharetta houses. Not because of the metal.

Tile Roofing
There is not a great deal of tile in Alpharetta, and most of what exists is concrete on a steep plane. Its real cost is not the installation.

Flat & Low-Slope Roofing
This is the one part of an Alpharetta roof we will happily price as a small standalone job. Rear porch roofs, bay window caps, sunroom additions and the flat behind a parapet over a converted garage are all low, reachable and cheap to work on.

Roof Coatings & Sealing
We do not coat steep shingle roofs. Somebody will offer to, usually for a number that looks appealing next to a replacement quote, and for an Alpharetta house with a ten in twelve gable the correct answer is no.

Roof Ventilation
Steep roofs in this city usually have generous attic volume and nothing like enough continuous ridge. A plan with four gables, two dormers and a hip over the garage has short ridge runs, and short ridge runs cannot exhaust the attic sitting underneath them.

Skylights
A skylight on a steep plane sheds water better than one on a shallow plane, and costs considerably more to reach. Both facts point at the same conclusion, which is that the moment to touch a skylight is the day the covering comes off.

Gutters & Downspouts
A twelve in twelve plane presents about forty percent more surface than the ground it covers, and it delivers the water to the eave a great deal faster. Gutters sized off a floor plan are undersized on a steep Alpharetta house before the first storm arrives.

Fascia & Soffit
Rotten fascia is found rather than quoted. It turns up when the gutter comes down and the drip edge lifts, which on an Alpharetta house is usually at the back, three storeys up, on a morning when the crew is already standing there.

Chimney Flashing
The code sizes a chimney cricket by roof slope, which tells you most of what you need to know. The steeper the plane, the taller the saddle that has to be framed in behind the chimney, and the more of it there is to get wrong.

Emergency Tarping
There are nights when the right answer is not to go on your roof. A steep plane in the wet, in the dark, in wind, is a surface people fall off, and we will not send a crew onto one because a homeowner is understandably frightened.

Commercial Roofing
Commercial work in Alpharetta inverts everything else on this site. The office parks along Windward Parkway and North Point, the flex buildings off Mansell Road and the retail on Old Milton are low-slope buildings, and low-slope means access is cheap.

Insurance Claim Help
An adjuster is not obliged to climb your roof, and on a steep one they frequently do not. That single fact shapes more Alpharetta claim outcomes than the storm did, and almost nobody explains it to a homeowner before the appointment is booked.

Commercial Roofing in Alpharetta and North Fulton
Alpharetta's commercial stock is overwhelmingly low-slope, which makes it the cheap access case and lets us quote genuinely small repairs on office, flex and retail buildings along Windward Parkway, North Point Parkway, Mansell Road and Old Milton Parkway.
The exception is the steep band nearly every nineties retail strip and office building here carries: the mansard wrap, the tall entry gable, the shingled screen hiding rooftop units. We price that separately, because it is a different crew working from anchors at commercial height.
- ✓Sixty and eighty mil TPO and PVC, EPDM and two-ply modified bitumen systems
- ✓Tapered polyisocyanurate where the original drainage was designed badly
- ✓Core cuts and moisture survey before any recover-versus-tear-off recommendation
- ✓Mansard bands, entry gables and steep screen walls priced as separate line items
- ✓Night and weekend work over occupied tenant space
- ✓Scheduled maintenance with dated photo reports for property managers
- ✓Insurance certificates supplied to landlords before work starts
- ✓Emergency membrane repairs and dry-in for building managers

How It Works
- Free Screening, Plane by Plane. Aerial images of every plane, long-lens photographs from the ground, gutter and downspout condition, and a look at the sheathing from inside. Dated file, plain verdict, no charge and no obligation.
- Pitch Measured, Bands Assigned. We take the rise over a two-foot run at each rake and sort the roof into access bands: walkable under six in twelve, bracket-staged from seven to nine, fully anchored at ten and above.
- Scope Written With Access Priced Apart. Material, labour and access appear as separate lines, with the measured pitch printed next to each plane. Deferred items get folded into the same mobilisation so the setup is only paid for once.
- Permit, Build, Photograph, Close. We pull the permit with Alpharetta Inspection and Code Enforcement, photograph the deck and flashing before they are covered, and hand over a dated record with the workmanship warranty.
What Alpharetta Customers Say
They measured every plane and showed us that the front gable was a twelve in twelve, then put the staging cost on its own line. First quote we got that explained why the number was what it was instead of just being it.
Another company quoted a coating over our shingles for about a third of a new roof. These guys walked through the arithmetic and told us not to do it, then found the actual leak at the chimney. Cricket framed, flashing cut into the brick, dry ever since.
Storm came through in April and they did the free aerial pass the same afternoon. Said two windward planes needed a close look and the rest was fine. Adjuster only wanted to see the garage until their photos turned up.
Rear of our house is three storeys to grade and every gutter guy had quoted it like it was the front. They did the gutters while the roof staging was already up and it cost less than the standalone quotes did.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does pitch change what my roof costs in Alpharetta?
Above four in twelve, 29 CFR 1926.500 classifies your roof as a steep roof, and the fall protection options narrow to guardrails with toeboards, safety nets or personal fall arrest. Below that line a crew can work behind a warning line with a monitor. Steep planes also need roof bracket scaffolds built to the pitch, small-lot material handling and a debris plan. On a twelve in twelve, that setup can cost more than the shingles.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Alpharetta?
Assume yes. Alpharetta requires permits before construction work starts, with narrow exceptions written into the Unified Development Code, and we pull ours with Inspection and Code Enforcement at 2 Park Plaza before the first bundle is delivered. If a contractor suggests skipping the permit to save you a fee, that tells you what the rest of the job will look like.
Is a roofing contractor licensed by the State of Georgia?
Not as a roofer. Georgia issues no separate state roofing licence, and roofing falls under the specialty contractor provision of O.C.G.A. 43-41-17. So the meaningful questions are different ones: are they insured, will they show you a certificate before starting, and will they pull the permit in their own name. Ask for those three things in writing.
Can you repair one leak, or do I have to replace the roof?
On a roof under about six in twelve a single repair is cheap and we do them all day. On a ten or twelve in twelve, the anchored setup costs the same whether we fix one pipe boot or six, and it costs the same again next time. If your covering is near the end of its life we will show you the repair number and the replacement number side by side and let you decide.
Should I coat my shingle roof instead of replacing it?
No, and we will not quote it. A coating buries the granules that protect the shingle, traps moisture in the mat and voids the manufacturer's warranty. It also needs the identical anchors and staging as a replacement, so you pay the full access cost for a product that lasts a fraction as long. We do sell coatings over sound low-slope membrane and over aged metal, where they genuinely work.
Why does the free inspection not include walking the roof?
Because a two-person anchored inspection on a steep plane is about two hours of scheduled work, and anybody advertising that for nothing is either absorbing it elsewhere or not doing it. The free screening catches most of what matters. If it finds something the images cannot resolve, we quote the close inspection first. Very often we tell people the screening was enough.
